Square Melons!

Remember those Science experiments in school where you had to enclose small fruits and veggie in bottles and other containers in the hopes that as the fruit grew it would take the shape of the enclosure?

I remember producing mis-shapen limes and cucumbers, but here’s a company that’s taking it into an art-form… and potentially big money-making venture.

Iris Corporation Berhad’s Capillary AgroTech has produce what looks like fine melons with the chinese character for luck naturally embossed on them. I’ve also seen apples in the market imprinted with various images and “lucky” characters (I assume by blocking sunlight on specific parts of the fruit).
