If you're an Adsense publisher in Malaysia, you know the frustration of having to wait almost 2 months to receive your cash. Since Adsene doesn't offer the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) option for Malaysia, we've had to be content with paper checks. The problem with this of course if that after they issue payment, it takes approximately 10 days for the check to arrive via regular mail (unless you're willing to pay for express service). Then it's another 30 day wait for the check to clear. That's if there are no hiccups. I can imagine lots of things going wrong with paper checks. If that happens, then you'd have to wait much longer to sort out the issue and if you depend on your Adsense earnings, you're in trouble.
Okay, so Adsense has finally come to its senses and made available a new payment option to Malaysians via Western Union :
| We’re excited to tell you that we're offering a new payment method for some countries. If you're located in Argentina, Chile, China (Mainland), Colombia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Peru, the Philippines, or Romania, you can now sign up for Western Union Quick Cash, a new form of payment that lets you receive your AdSense payments in cash using the worldwide Western Union money transfer service. Payments will be available for pickup at your local Western Union agent the day after they are issued, according to our normal payment schedule.
It's free to receive your AdSense payments by Western Union; you'll no longer need to wait for a check to arrive in the mail. this choice can also cut down on bank fees and long clearing times associated with depositing checks. Before you sign up, please keep these important points in mind:
If you're ready to begin receiving your AdSense payments by Western Union Quick Cash, just follow these instructions. If you have additional questions before getting started, please review the information in our Help Center. |
I haven't changed my payment option to Western Union yet though. I don't like to the first for these sort of things (in case there are bugs in the system). Another reason is that all online earnings are extra and saved or invested so I don't rely on it. However, I'm sure I will opt for payment via Western Union in the near future. Paper check travelling half way around the world and the long wait is just too risky.

Why I can't see adsense ad on your blog?
Heh... good question Daram... very alert of you!
I took Adsense off the blog about 2 weeks ago. It will be off for a couple of months because of a bit of testing. I hope to explain sometime soon why it can be a good thing NOT to have Adsense on every site you own... for the bigger picture.
