I just got this email from John Reese. In case you didn’t know already, John recently launched his latest viral marketing product for blogs called BlogRush. Like all other products, there were some initial problems and more than a handful of blogger threw brickbats at BlogRush.
| *On a sidenote… I hate folks who just play follow the leader and jump on “Let’s trash BlogRush” bandwagon. They read ONE blogger who rubbishes BlogRush and decided it would be cool to throw crap on it too without even giving it a chance. |
Anyway, here’s we separate the boys from the men (so to speak). Any lesser internet marketer would have just side-stepped the feedback but not John. He’s been responding 100 percent to the “critiques”. And in giving his word to clean up the BlogRush membership of scraper and spam sites, he’s now paying YOU to join him as a Reviewer to review blogs. I just receive an email from him which I have copied here in its entirety for you to read :
| I’m looking to hire several people that want to make some quick cash. (Read on for all the details.)
As you probably know by now, Income.com launched it’s first major ‘network’ piece two weeks ago… BlogRush. In only its first two weeks, BlogRush has been extremely successful. But it has also been quite challenging. We experienced a few problems that we are working to solve as quickly as possible. One of these problems was having users add spammy or low quality blogs to our network — and we also had many users ignore our “English blogs only” warning and submit foreign blogs as well. We are moving to a 100% Manual Review Process for all the current blogs in our network and any new blogs from here on out. We are very serious about protecting the INTEGRITY and QUALITY of our network. Because of this… WE NEED HELP! We’re looking to hire a bunch of people that would like to earn some extra cash. If you or someone you know might be interested, please forward this message to them. This would be perfect for a stay-at-home mom, college student, or anyone else looking to make some extra All that’s required is sitting in front of their computer and doing the following… Login to our Review System with an account we will setup for them. There will be a top The bottom frame will automatically load a blog that needs to be reviewed. After reviewing the * We have created a little training video to teach reviewers what to look for and how to decide After pushing one of the buttons the next blog to be reviewed automatically loads in that bottom frame. It’s as simple as that. Here’s The Deal… We’re paying USD $12.00/hour for this review work. It’s not a fortune, but it’s a pretty simple * All reviewers will be paid DAILY via PayPal for that day’s work. All reviewers will also be independent contractors and responsible for their own taxes, etc. PayPal payments will be made via the “Mass Pay” function so reviewers will not have any fees taken out of their earnings - we will pay for all transaction fees. We will have several hours of work for each new reviewer initially. Those that do a good job will be given the opportunity for ongoing work — as we will be reviewing new blogs everyday. * The best reviewers will probably also receive some of our products as an additional bonus for a job well done. ** Special Note: We are looking to hire some of our own customers or email subscribers, ideally. We are not interested in outsourcing this work to some low wage workers in a foreign country. This work is to be done by applicants only — NOT by those brokering the work to others. Here Are The Requirements: 1. Must have a broadband (fast) Internet connection. i.e. cable modem, DSL, etc. 2. Must already know what a blog is and what a typical blog looks like. 3. Must know the difference in a quality blog and one that was solely created to try and game the search engines and/or just run a bunch of ads — and/or what a “scraper” blog is that contains no original content and simply uses content taken from other sites with some sort of software program. * Our training video gives guidelines and tips for determining what is a quality blog and what should be rejected from our network — including examples of “good” and “bad” blogs. 4. Must be able to start IMMEDIATELY. (As in TODAY, if possible.) And be able to put in at least 2-3 hours a day. 5. Must have an active PayPal account. If you or someone you know meets all of these requirements and is interested here’s what to do next: Send An Email To: kevincolon@gmail.com - Full Name That’s it! If we accept your email application we will be immediately emailing you the full instructions so you can get started ASAP. * Due to the heavy volume of requests we expect to receive, we may not be able to respond to every application. If you do not receive an email reply within 24 hours then we have probably decided not to use you at this time. We will keep your application on file and may (Thanks for your understanding.) “Me? I’ll give it a pass. My plate is full, but I wish you all the best”. I smell scam!. Is that why you passed?. Paying to review blogs? Seems to me, a scam to attract traffic without anything tangible to offer.
No.. Daram. Rest assured. Definitely NOT a scam. John Reese is a reputable Internet Marketer. He is paying HAND-PICKED reviewers to review the thousands of blogs that have joined BlogRush’s community. What he wants to do is to get rid of spam, scam and scraper blogs so that ONLY quality blogs remain. Tough job, but John is one tough nut. That’s why he’s willing to invest what will be thousands of bucks to do a job that cannot be done by a handful of staff.
As for me saying I’m giving it a pass, it’s simply because with my home catering biz taking up 80 percent of my working time and my website taking the rest, I just cannot see myself putting in 2-3 hours a day as a reviewer. If I had the time, I wouldn’t post about the opportunity UNTIL I had secured a place myself!
Geeeezz! I got it all wrong. Pardon my misunderstanding.
Luv to be a reviewer, however I am not a trained writer, proofreader or journalist.
Thanks for the feedback!.
LOL! I can certainly understand that! I’ve been in hot soup lots of times because I zigged when I should have zagged!
I think an objective mind is the most important asset to be a reviewer. Why not give it a whack anyway? Nothing to lose…
To spend few hours in front of the computer to do such reviewing works should be interesting.
However, how the rate is being calculated? USD12 per hour - it can be a slow moving reviewing process or super speed too. Someone can do a 10 reviews in an hour and another guy can go for 120 reviews an hour too (assuming 30 seconds for each blog).
I guess the rate should be based on the number of blogs reviewed or setting up some tiers of payment rather than just a fixed USD12 per hour. How about 0.10 or 0.20 per review? This would be fun and attractive.
For me, I would prefer to give it a pass too.
I’ve seen this kind of payment mode before. If it’s the same, then what they’ll do is ask you how much time you can put in. Based on that, they will give you a number of blogs to review. That way, they will pay you that fixed number of hours per day provided you have completed the reviews assigned to you.
Think about it though… if you put in 3 hours a day for five days, then you get USD36 x 5 = USD180. Works out to about RM612. Okay wat?
Andrew,
I have same feeling like what Daram has before….
My apologize to say that…real feel !
On the other hand, no doubt John is an excellence Internet marketer ! He has gained high respect from many of us.
But hey… look at it this way WebWorm… better to be wary of scams than to be gung ho and lose all your dough…
Actually everyone — I came across this blog when I was reviewing the site for John Reese. Couldn’t help but comment.
John Reese is doing exactly what he says. He’s hired at least 10 reviewers and we’re getting paid $12.00/hr. for reviewing sites.
While other sites and so called gurus are a scam, John Reese certainly is NOT!!!
