Over ten years ago, I didn’t know a thing about websites and HTML. When my company’s webmaster left all of a sudden, they threw me into that position  . I signed up for a basic introductory course in HTML.

On the first day on the job as Webmaster, I lost our website :ohman: ! I don’t remember how I lost it, but I DO remember the cold sweat… in any case, did I give up? NO. And I’m glad I didn’t because after lots of hard work, self-study and persistence, I’m where I am now because I didn’t give up. Ten years ago, when they gave me that webmaster’s job, I told myself : Just Do It…

It was only four years ago that I built my first personal website. PositiveTones.com was a really big project at that time. Signing up with my brand new web host, I discovered that they only ran PHP, so I had to learn PHP from scratch :?: How did I learn? One line at a time. One small script at a time. It took me 6 long months before I finally had the site up and running and while it wasn’t as perfect as I had intended it to be, it showed me that I could do lots of things if I put my mind to it and told myself - Just Do It!

I used my newly acquired PHP skills for my next project - PositiveMoneyIdeas.com two years later. This time round, it wasn’t the PHP or HTML that posed the greatest challenge. It was the sheer amount of research and painstaking hours of writing that made it difficult. But I knew I had a good idea and told myself - Just Do It.

A year ago, I decided I wanted a blog of my own. Not really with any business or monetary goals in mind - I just thought it would be c   l to have a blog of my own! So I messed around with a couple of free blogging sites until I got the hang of it. While I could have stayed with my free blogs, I thought it would be more cool to have my own domain blog so I told myself - Just Do It!

Three months ago, I got a case of itchy fingers and my brain started to wander off on its own again  . I had an idea stuck in my head and I knew the only way to un-stick it was to Just Do It! Right now, I’m building a tutorial website. What’s it called? It’s not done yet, so I going to tell you later. In any case, this project is taking lots of my time right now. No PHP or fancy stuff. It’s about getting my facts right and that takes time and effort but I told myself - Just Do It!

And the point of this post? yeah… I know it sounds like I’m plugging Nike, but I’m not. It’s a call to you to Just Do It. When you get a bright idea in your mind, don’t just let it fly away… find out how you can Just Do It and well…. Just Do It!

Four years of hard work later, I can look back at all I’ve accomplished and be proud that I am building an empire that will benefit everyone who visits my sites. I’m glad I kept telling myself and will keep telling myself - Just Do It!
